Recently Cognizant slashed its promotion cycle from two cycles in a year to one. You will find the reason why this has happened. This can also have impact on the promotion cycles of other services companies in the software industry.

Initially, not many people used to take the computer science stream within engineering. But today we have more computer science engineers than all the other streams combined. 4. How is the Cognizant Promotion News relevant to me? I recently joined Cognizant.

For every engineer promotion cycles are very important part of their career growth. More engineers lose interest in a company just because of the way their promotion and appraisal happen within a software company. When you join a software company as a fresher you are usually going to start at an average salary somewhere between Rs 3,00,000 to Rs 3,50,000 within the software industry. The hope of every engineer is that once they showcase their work then they will be able to get a better income. So engineers are very apprehensive about their promotions. 5. Can I go from Manual Testing into Data Science? Instead of following the path of Automation.

Now a days every engineer wants to get into the new age digital technology. Engineers want to learn the latest and the best technologies that can help them get a better opportunities and above all a high paying job. This question was asked by a Manual Tested whether he can get into Data Science instead of following the regular path of Automation. 6. How is career growth in Cognizant Technology Solutions for fresher?

Any engineer wants to work for a software company that gives three things a good salary, a good career growth and some stability. 7. What is the scope of Java in the coming years?

Java Programming Language looks like the granddaddy of all the new programming tools and technologies. There is a flood of tools and technologies in the market. There is Python and Ruby and JavaScript. In this where is Java and what is the future of Java? If you are a programmer then you might have these questions. But for me, Java was a new programming language when I started programming back in 1995. And I choose not to learn Java because I did not know the impact it could make in this world of Internet and Cloud Computing. But today if you are a software engineer then you should know the Scope of Java in the coming years for sure.

8. How to make transition from service based companies to product based companies?

Lately, every fresher will come and ask me this question. How is product-based companies different from service-based companies? The reason for this question is because of the horror stories about Service-Based companies floating around in the world of the internet. Also, there is a perception that product-based companies pay higher salaries along with stock options that can make you a millionaire overnight when the company goes into Merger and Acquisition. So this question has become important and you will find my answer in this video.

9. Do product based companies reject engineers from serviced based companies?

There is this perception that engineers working in Product based companies are kind of Demigods. They have some superpowers in programming that engineers in Service-based companies do not have.
